Dr. Matthew Nichols

Matthew Nichols began his career in May 1994, after graduating from Dalhousie's School of Dentistry. He worked as an associate at a Halifax practice for three years, and then purchased Rockingham Ridge Dental Centre in the community where he grew up. Since then, he has dedicated himself to providing patients with quality care and a comprehensive array of dental procedures using the most advanced technology available.

Over the years, Dr. Nichols has remained active in several advanced continuing education programs. These programs are focused on interdisciplinary care, restorative, implant, aesthetic dentistry and occlusions.  He is an alumnus of the prestigious Dawson Academy in St. Petersburg, FL, where he studied under Dr. Peter Dawson. And he has taken courses at Spear Education in Scottsdale, AZ, which was founded by internationally acclaimed educator Dr. Frank Spear.

In addition to his ongoing studies, Dr. Nichols is a long-standing member of several industry organizations and associations. They include the American Academy of Oral Medicine, the Academy of General Dentistry, The Canadian Dental Association and the Nova Scotia Dental Association. He is also associated with the Atlantic Implant Study Club and is a Certified Invisalign Provider.

A firm believer in maintaining a work-life balance, Dr. Nichols spends free time with his family, and enjoys cycling, fitness training and golf.
